It's been one heck of an absolutely divine week!! And i'm really grateful! Thank you Jesus!!
Okay, so let me explain the cause for my exhilaration!!
Basically, NUS is involved in this network of universities called U21. It's a research conference held yearly, to promote undergraduate researchers coming together to present their findings and projects from their respective universities.
This year, this conference is held in Scotland, @ the University of Glasgow! Well, when i first heard of it, i was interested in it, so i just anyhow try my luck and applied for it.
Lo and Behold! On Monday (the one that passed), they called me to say i was shortlisted for the interview. SHOCKED is the word, cos my application is quite blank-- no CCAs , no awards, nothing la basically! haha!
And i actually got shortlisted. So, it's pretty amazing already.
Thursday came the interview, i was kinda nervous, but just kept praying the whole time. it was short i think i smoked through alot of the answers. haha!
They asked me: "what's one thing you would say to your fellow colleagues at the conference about NUS?"
Me: Vibrant! haha! because NUS doesn't just want their students to focus on studying only, but also offer programmes like Student Exchange programmes. (haha like trying to 'po' them!)
They: "oh then how come you didnt go for the exchange programmes?"
Me: Oh!! haha because it's expensive! Cost is an issue. -.-
OMG.i think i sound kinda bimbotic..seriously..:O
HAHA..anyway! today they emailed me saying I AM IN!! HAHAHA!! WAHH it's such a pleasant surprise to hear that, and i was over the moon!! super duper duper happy!
Cos they best part is, they will sponsor me 2.4K to cover costs! OH OH OH!
but it's ex there la! so i think will still need to pay maybe 1k?
but 1k to go scotland for 7 days? Where are you going to find a deal like that? hahaha!!
Moral of the story: PRAISE THE LORD!!!!! :) He really opened the doors, that no Man can shut!
I'm looking forward to going there, from Oct 15-21 2009! can't wait! that'll be my second trip abroad in 2009, after a seven year hiatus of not taking planes. hahaha!
God is truly more than enough!:)
Another thing that really made me glad this week, was the fact that I started reading up more scientific journals, and gained momentum to read them and managed to formulate the whole honour's project i'm doing clearly. WOOHOO!! finally i'm on the track to somewhere. :D
yipee yay!!!
HEHE..okok! so it's been a fabulous week, and i hope yours is too! But anyhow, let's give thanks IN all circumstances!

This Song is so powerful, and it's really been a song that became a prayer in my heart all through these years, through my ups and downs, thru the darkest of nights.
I still think that such songs are so very close to my heart. I mean new songs are great, but somehow, i think the old songs like these, bring us closer to God and love Him more than any new song can.

School has started, after what seems like a super long 3 months, but yet like not very long.
Well, now that school has started, there is really no time for play anymore!!!!
I need to focus and really study very hard, become a bookworm, hibernate in the library and study all day long!
This is my VERY crucial year, and alot of important exams coming up.

The chorus is so beautiful! It really speaks of loving yourself from within, and using your inner beauty to cover up for the physical flaws that we all have.
It's been one great day today! Simply because it is CHC's 20th Anniversary today!(:
When the 20 pioneers stood on stage to share their testimonies, my heart was filled with awe and immense gratitude. Words couldn't describe how I was feeling then , but tears just kept flowing down my eyes as I listened to each testimony and watched "My first Sunday in Church".
Everytime we celebrate our anniversary on a big scale like this, I never fail to cry my eyes out, because the same feeling overwhelms me. I know that I am who I am because of this Church and its members, and my life has been radically changed from the moment I stepped into CHC years ago.
Everyone of the testimonies were inspiring, but they all carry the same message. It is the AWESOME Presence and Atmosphere in this place that DRAWS US. Towards Him, Towards each other.
Lord, I'm so thankful that you arranged for me to be part of this church. I cannot imagine if I did not spend the past 6 years of my weekends in Church. I'd probably turn out to be an insecure, introverted, quiet girl and who knows what else.
Have you ever thought, what if you were never "arranged" by God to be invited by a friend, or never came to this church? Well I have, many times. And this is what I figure:
I would never have the chance to lead young people nor influence them for God; I never would discover that I could actually sing and use my voice for Worshipping Him; I'd probably have 1039018137X less friends; I'd be cooped up in my own world somewhere.
But, God Your Plan is always amazing, and You have our best interests at heart. On this day, I will renew my commitments, convictions and renew my passion for Your House once again. Thank you for raising up Pastor Kong, who never failes to inspire and bring FIRE to our hearts.
What touched me most, was what Belinda Lee said in the last part of the video. "I know, that CHC is where I'm going to stay, for as long as I live."
When she said that, a chord struck in my heart. indeed, this is what I would say too.
I'm here to stay. (:
